Rapid chess in Bucharest, at clubs and tournaments 18

Rapid, with well under an hour per player, fits a whole tournament into one day, and that is how a good part of Bucharest’s chess is played. The Trofeul CARO at Hotel CARO, the stages of the Maraton MM Silver League in a morning and an afternoon session, the Mega Mall ChessCraft Arena and the February Festivalul Șahului Bucureștean at ICHB Colentina are all rapid events. The Campionatul Capitalei has a rapid day in November.

The Reuniunea Șahistă Chess Architect played rapid in the Unirii View building, and the Bucharest Scheveningen had a rapid edition. Among the clubs, The Square has passed its twentieth numbered rapid competition, ACS Master Mind holds cups in spring and in June, CS Alcor plays junior rapids at Militari Shopping Center and in Chiajna, and CS DLD Kids by the Parcul Național.
